01 — Purpose

Why we run it

Industry Nights go deeper than a careers fair. One company gets the evening, so there is room to cover what the organisation actually works on, which roles sit inside it, how coursework here translates into that work, and how their recruiting really runs — timelines included.

The night is themed, so students in the relevant majors get put in front of professionals working in exactly that field.

02 — Run of show

How the evening runs

  • 6:00 Check-in, nametags and seating; light networking among students, with sponsor signage displayed
  • 6:10 Welcome from SCAS, introduction of the company, and an overview of the evening's purpose
  • 6:15 Company presentation — mission and work, the roles inside the organisation, how majors here contribute to real-world problems, and internship and early-career openings
  • 6:40 Career pathways and technical insight — day-to-day work for interns and full-time staff, the skills and coursework that carry over, recruiting timelines, and advice on résumés, projects and technical prep
  • 7:05 Student-led Q&A — internships, hiring, skill expectations, graduate school versus industry, and career trajectories by major
  • 7:25 Networking — résumé conversations, career advice, and time with company representatives over food

Before you come

Both the date and the location are still being confirmed with the sponsoring company. Check Instagram the week before, or sign up for event updates by email and we will send the details when they are set.

Bring a résumé if you have one — the networking session is built for exactly that conversation.
